Laura Lee 'Sunny' Polk, 45 CLAYTON - Laura Lee "Sunny" Polk, of Clayton, died peacefully at home Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010. She was 45. Laura was born Jan. 19, 1964, in Spartanburg, S.C., to Linda Lee Christopher Conner and the late Leland Vernon Conner. She worked as a home health care nurse for Maxim Healthcare in Dover for the last nine years. Laura enjoyed riding motorcycles, collecting Indian sculptures, being outdoors but especially spending time with her family. She thrived for family and friends and she was a lover of animals. She had attended the Eagle Wings Ministry of Dover. She was a woman of great faith and loved Jesus Christ with all of her heart. She was a devoted and loving mother and wife and a great friend. She is survived by her mother, Linda Lee Moffler of Dover; her husband of 4 years, Richard Polk of Clayton; sons, Vincent June of Bear, and Patrick LaBerge Jr. whom resided at home with her and his stepfather; daughter, Melissa Schwan of Texas; step-daughters, Brandi and Ashley Polk, both of Florida; brother, Leland Conner, Jr. of Lincoln; sister, Teressa Kusmaul of Hartly; grandchildren, Shyanne and Sierra June and Emma Schwan; step-grandchild, Jocelyn Polk; nephew, James Kusmaul; nieces, Kim Allen, Amanda, Crystal and Amber Cranmer; and an extended family. She will always be loved and remembered. Memorial services will be 6 p.m., Monday Jan. 11, at the Maranatha Memorial Baptist Church, 605 Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray the funeral costs. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
