LaShawn Renee Johnson, 39

DOVER - LaShawn Renee Johnson of Dover died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 39.

Ms. Johnson was born May 12, 1967, in Fairfield, Calif., daughter of Andrew and Barbara Johnson.

She was a 1986 graduate of Dover High School.

Ms. Johnson was a licensed cosmetologist and a business owner for more than 20 years.

She was a faithful member of Crossroad Christian Church. She was a loving and caring person who was always about the Lord's business. She always had a word of encouragement and used her God-given gifts for prison outreach and women ministry.

Ms. Johnson's life spoke for itself. She fought a good fight, finished her course and kept the faith.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Ruth Thompson and Mary Price; an aunt, Laura Johnson; and an uncle, Dale Price.

She is survived by her parents, Andrew and Barbara Johnson of Dover; her fiancé, Howard R. Parker III of Philadelphia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tonya D. Johnson of Dover, YuRonda F. and Christopher P. Adams of Camden; a brother, Andrew C. Johnson Jr. of Middletown; two nieces, Deja Brown and Cierra Adams; a nephew, Christopher Jordan Adams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in Crossroads Christian Church, DuPont Highway, Dover.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the church, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.

Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
