MARDELA SPRINGS - Larry S. Fisher, 69, of Mardela Springs, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at his home. He was born October 8, 1945, in Baltimore, a son of Harry S. Fisher of Salisbury and the late Louise Beach Fisher. He graduated from Wicomico High School with the Class of 1963. After high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he went to work for Delmarva Power, where he enjoyed a 42-year career. He retired in 2009 as a plant operator. He later went back to work as a sub-contractor for NRG at the Indian River power plant until his second retirement in 2014. Memberships included the Vingt Cinq Club (25-year club with Delmarva Power and Light Co.), Temple Post No. 170 Masonic Lodge in Mardela Springs and he attended Snethen United Methodist Church in Mardela. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda K. Fisher; three children, Jeff Fisher of Bowie, Md., Allyson Smith of Wilson, N.C. and Mike Fisher of Salisbury; five grandchildren; a sister, Marty Yates of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. A Masonic service and funeral service were held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment with military honors followed at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
