L. Emerson Isaacs

GREENWOOD - L. Emerson Isaacs, was born on October 7, 1922, in Greenwood, the son of Lester and Anna Isaacs. Emerson was a life long farmer. He started farming when he was only eight years old and farmed until he was 88. His son, Gary farmed with his father since he was a very young boy, and is still farming the home farms. They both shared the love of the land and a special kinship. He was also a loving and fun father to three daughters, and showed a special love for his grandchildren. He loved to make his family laugh. He will be sorely missed by all. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Stephanie. Emerson is survived by the love of his life Ruth Ann Draper Isaacs his wife of 70 years, they were high school sweethearts and were always together; his four children, Diane Isaacs of Troy, Mich., Sharon Kowinsky of Greenwood, Gary Isaacs of Greenwood, and Linda Tull of Bridgeville; four grandchildren, Greg, Tracy, Brandon, and Heather; a sister Louise Cooney of Greenwood; and two brothers Everett Isaacs of Greenwood and Harold Isaacs of Seaford. Visitation will be held at 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market St., Greenwood, DE 19950. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment service will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
