Knowles Henry Hovington Sr.

MILLSBORO - Knowles Henry Hovington Sr., of Millsboro, son of the late George Hovington and Edith White-Hovington, born on Nov. 27, 1924, departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was 85. Mr. Hovington served his country as a United States Army Soldier in WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel; and daughter, Connie Ellis. He leaves to cherish his memories, two sisters, Edith Bethel and Frances Crawford of Dover; one brother-in-law, Francis Bethel of Dover; three daughters, Madge Knox (Manuel) of Willingboro, N.J., Carol Dennis (Samuel) of Millsboro, and Mabel Warren (Gary Sr.) of Milford; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at Dickerson Chapel AME Church, Rt. 113, Millsboro, on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at 1 p.m., where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Elder Hayward Bailey will officiate. Interment will be in Old Field Cemetery, Millsboro. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. Letters of condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com.
