Gehrt, 63 Bridgeville - Kenneth Rudolph Gehrt passed away Sunday, June 14th, 2015. He was born in Washington, D.C. on July 24th 1951, son of Warren Joseph and Stella Ray (Ferguson) Gehrt. Kenny competed in the Special Olympics for several years and was award multiple medals. He was also one of the original residents of the Bridgeville Group Home, where he resided for the past 30 years. Kenny will always be remembered for his smile and the glint in his eyes. In addition to his parents, Kenny is survived by his 3 siblings: his sister, Bonnie Gehrt Davis and her husband, Gary of Kennett Square, Pa; his brothers, W. Thomas Gehrt and his wife, Victoria also of Kennett Square, Pa. and his brother Russell Landrum Gehrt and his wife, Kathy of Frankford; and his three nephews, Michael J. Brennan, Matthew T. Gehrt, and Aaron R. Gehrt. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18th, 2015 between 3pm and 4pm in the Georgetown Chapel of Short Funeral Services 609 E Market Street, Georgetown, DE 19947. A Memorial Service will take place that same day at 4pm. Interment will be private.
