Kem (McHenry) Legg, 46

CHESTER, Md. - Kem (McHenry) Legg of Chester died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. She was 46.

Mrs. Legg was born Oct. 12, 1960, in Chestertown, daughter of Calvin D. McHenry of Chesapeake City and Joan Elizabeth (Sapp) Harding of Chestertown.

She was a 1978 graduate of Kent County High School.

She married Donnie Legg of Kent Island on March 29, 1980.

Mrs. Legg worked as a waitress at Harris Crab House, Grasonville, for the past 18 years. She was employed with the Maryland House of Delegates, where she served for the past seven years as delegation assistant and chief of staff with Barry Glassman, delegate for Harford County. She was also often seen helping at the Country Peddler in Chester.

She was an avid runner, competing in many marathons, and enjoyed exercising, shopping and spending time at the beach. She was a devoted mother.

Mrs. Legg was a member of Kent Island United Methodist Church and Wye of Carmichael United Methodist Church, Queenstown. She was active with the Sunday school, Hannah"s Circle and United Methodist Women. She was also active with Scouts Troop 495, assisted coaching youth soccer and volunteered with Queen Anne"s County Schools.

She is survived by three sons, Jared Legg, Cory Legg and Ryan Legg, all of Chester; her former husband, Donnie Legg of Chester; her father, Calvin D. McHenry and his wife, Joyce of Chesapeake City; her mother, Joan Harding and her husband, Bud of Chestertown; a brother, Danny McHenry of Kennedyville; a sister, Julie Delciotto of Millington; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers and loved ones.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Kent Island United Methodist Church where friends may call two hours earlier.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kem Legg Memorial Trust Fund, c/o Queenstown Bank, P.O. Box 120, Queenstown, MD 21658.
