CLAYTON - Kelli Denise Turek of Clayton died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. She was 37.
She was born in Montgomery, W.Va., and moved to Delaware, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Smyrna High School in 1988.
Kelli had a fondness for all things mystical.
She and her husband, Turk, were married on Halloween of 1996 in front of a bonfire, with family and friends in costume.
Kelli enjoyed cycling with her husband and friends, and they took many motorcycle trips across the country.
She worked for 13 years in the Emergency Department of Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, and will be remembered for her compassion and sense of humor on the job.
Kelli was preceded in death by her dad, Bill Colyer of Clayton.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband, Dwayne "Turk," and her darling little daughter and love of her life, Adara; her beloved mother, Linda Colyer of Clayton; her best friend and sister, Angela Wharff and her husband Jim; her dear nephew and niece, Andrew and Erika; her mother-in-law, Joan Ferguson and her companion Harry Vandever of Smyrna; her father-in-law, Anthony Turek of Florida; her brother-in-law, David Turek; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She touched many people in her lifetime with her warm and loving spirit and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
