HOUSTON - Kathryn V. Simpson of Houston passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in the Milford Center. She was 96.
Mrs. Simpson was born Oct. 23, 1911, in Houston, daughter of the late Edgar and Irene (Sipple) Vinyard.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Simpson had been involved with the Kent County Links, an organization that helps children in 4-H clubs.
She was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Simpson, in 1985; a brother, David Vinyard; and two sisters, Mary Sapp and Ann Pase.
She is survived by a son, William "Bill" Simpson of Houston; a sister, Ellen Jump of Hampton, Va.; four grandchildren and their spouses, George E. and Tammy Simpson, William T. and Shelly Simpson, Kevin Z. and Jamie Simpson and Loretta Simpson; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be in the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Instead of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Houston United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 43, Houston, DE 19954.
