Kathryn V.Conneely, 92
DENTON, Md. - Kathryn V. Conneely, of Denton, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at her home. She was 92.
Born in Baltimore on Feb. 15, 1916, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emile Henrietta Kendall.
Kathryn's husband, Thomas J.G. Conneely, died June 5, 1990.
They married in 1939 and both worked for the New York Telephone Co.
They moved to Delmarva in 1951, where they worked as tenant farmers in order to purchase a farm on Hobbs Road near Denton.
While her husband worked for the Caroline County school system, Kathryn was a seamstress for Rob Roy in Ridgely, retiring in 1976 after 23 years of service.
After her husband's death, Kathryn lived the remainder of her life on Hobbs Road with her grandson's family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Martha Lillian Conneely and Lynne K. Wells, who died Feb. 23, 2008.
Mrs. Conneely is survived by her son, Thomas J.M. Conneely Sr. and his wife Dawn of Denton; four grandchildren, Thomas J.M. Conneely Jr. and his wife Michelle of Denton, John M. Conneely of Ridgely, Kelli Jester and her husband John of Hurlock, and Toby Jester of Denton; her former daughter-in-law and caregiver, Georgeann Potter; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call one hour before the service.
Interment will be in Denton Cemetery.

Katharine Aline
(Shriley) Thompson, 93
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Katharine Aline (Shriley) Thompson, of Chestertown, died on Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chestertown. She was 93.
She was born on July 24, 1914, in Kent County, the daughter of the late William Lamb and Mabel Groves Shriley.
She married John Walter "Jack" Thompson on June 30, 1938. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1998.
Mrs. Thompson resided in Chestertown, where she worked as a nurses aid with Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Rock Hall Planning Group, Kent County Farm Bureau, and the Rock Hall Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Thompson enjoyed cooking, baking, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Sutton and Helen Sutton.
She is survived by two sons, James Walter Thompson and his wife Helen, and William Merritt Thompson and Grace Eyler, both of Chestertown; two daughters, Joan Plummer and Mary K. Spray, both of Worton; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where relatives and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
Interment will be in Chester Cemetery, Chestertown.
