GEORGETOWN - Kathryn Folke passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born on September 5, 1923, in Salisbury, Md., the daughter of the late Ray and Blossie (Dennis) Messick. She was a secretary for Wayne Pump Co., many years ago. She was part owner and operator of Sandy Hill Greenhouses in Georgetown. She enjoyed attending activities and was very active at the Cheer Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Clayton Folke in 1997; granddaughter, Amanda Haxton in 2008; son, Alan Krest; and brother, William Messick. She is survived by her two children, Kit Haxton and her husband Richard, Mark Folke and his wife Maria all of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Clint Haxton, Adrian Haxton, Jamie Haxton, Megan Avalos and Rommell, Lauren Routon and Aaron, Jessica Pizzaia and Richard, and Colleen Folke; and two great grandchildren, Josiah Avalos and Hadassah Avalos. Funeral Services will be held 12:30 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 Forest Road, Georgetown, DE, where visitation will be held from 11:30 to 12:30. Burial will be at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton.
