MILLSBORO - Kathleen Marie Eaton past on peacefully surrounded by her family at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017.
She was born on Mar. 6, 1956 in Washington D.C., the daughter of Myron Gowans of Leesburg, Fla. and the late Agnes (Wheeler) Gowans.
Kathy dedicated herself to helping and caring for others, which lead her to a rewarding career in home healthcare.
She enjoyed nature and especially the ocean.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her son, Jonathan Matthews and his wife Monica of Magnolia; and two grandchildren, Miranda and Mikenna. She is also survived by her four sisters, Myra, Delly, Marian, and Theresa and her husband Tommy; and many beloved nieces, a nephew, and their children.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be privately held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Dover at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathy's memory may be made to Tunnell Cancer Center, 18947 John J. Williams Hwy., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
