Kathleen Eileen Finn (Black) VINELAND, N.J. - Kathleen Eileen Finn (Black), age 85, of Vineland, passed away Saturday evening at the Millville Center of Genesis Elder Care, Millville, N.J., after an extended illness. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Queens, The Bronx, Yankton, S.D., Omaha, Neb., Jackson, N.J., Noonan, Ga., and Felton, Del., before moving to Vineland 5 years ago. Kathleen was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. She was a former teacher at the St. Rose of Lima School in Freehold, N.J. Kathleen previously worked for the Federal Census Bureau in Ocean County and retired from the State of NJ Division of Workers Compensation. She was involved in the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a member of the Columbiettes. She had been active with the Altar Rosary Societies at various parishes, and enjoyed cooking, crafts, crocheting, and reading. Daughter of the late Julia (Nugent) and Alexander A. Black; wife of the late James A. Finn; Mother of the late, Patricia Ann Finn; Sister of the late, Elizabeth Maloney and Frank Black; step-sister of the late Muriel McNally and Herbert and Arthur Black, she is survived by five children, Kathleen E. Pearce (Dennis) of Vineland, Mary Elizabeth Finn of Georgia, James A. Finn of Felton, Del., Charles E Finn of California, and Frank G. Finn (Karen) of Santa Anna, Calif.; a sister, Julia O'Day of Georgia; seven grandchildren, Shane Pearce (Jen) of Vineland, Cory Pearce (Lauren) of Charleston, S.C., Darren Pearce (Marcia) of Elmer, N.J., Kerrilee Pearce of Vineland, Erin Hinkel (Matt) of East Texas, Pa., Blair Pearce of Vineland, and Kelsey Finn of Santa Anna, Calif.; five great-grandchildren, Madison Pearce of Vineland, Riley Pearce of Vineland, Elizabeth Pearce of Elmer, N.J., Jordan and Brianna Hinkel of East Texas, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Sacred Heart RC Church, 1010 E. Landis Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360. Interment will be private in the St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ. Relatives & friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and again from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland, NJ 08360.
