Katherine J. 'Kitty' Woodall, 88

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Katherine J. "Kitty" Woodall of Chestertown died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, in Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 88.

Mrs. Woodall was born July 25, 1918, daughter of the late Albert Earl and Lillian (Joiner) Jewell.

She was a lifetime resident of Kent County, working for Forney's Jewelers and Colonial Jewelers.

She was an auxiliary member of Frank M Jarman American Legion Post 36.

Mrs. Woodall enjoyed reading, playing cards, vacations at the beach and staying active with her friends until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John "Stump" Woodall, in 2001; a sister, Virginia Martin; and a brother, A. Earl Jewell.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Martinez of Chestertown; a son, William Spry and his wife Vicki of Hartly; three grandchildren, Kathy Spry, Lynn Jones and her husband Bill, and Mike Martinez; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Graveside services will follow in Galena Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the Galena Cemetery Fund or the Chester Cemetery Fund, c/o the funeral home.
