DOVER - Katherine A. Horvath of Dover died Thursday, May 3, 2007, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 47.
Born in Coaldale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John L. and Anna P. Horvath.
Katherine was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, Dover, and received a Bachelor of Arts from High Point University. She later attended Central Michigan University, where she received a master's degree specializing in management and supervision finance.
For the past 17 years, she was employed with the state of Delaware, specializing in human resources. Most recently she managed the Workforce Planning and Performance Measurement at the Office of Management and Budget. During her tenure with the state, some of Katherine's duties included manager of employee relations and communications, executive assistant to TASC director and the development of statewide curriculums and the teaching of courses and workshops.
Katherine was a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, and Sigma Iota Epsilon, an honorary management fraternity. She was also listed in the "Who's Who in America" catalog.
She was very knowledgeable of the Civil War and was active in the preservation of its history, and was a member of the Civil War Preservation Trust.
Katherine enjoyed traveling and being with her friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gabriel.
She is survived by a brother, John G. Horvath of Magnolia; a niece, Jessica Horvath of Milford; and her great-nephew and favorite person, Gabriel Horvath of Milford.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, S. State St., Dover.
Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
