Karen Michele Lanter, 47

DOVER - Karen Michele Lanter of Dover passed from this world into the arms of her heavenly Father Monday, May 7, 2007, in Christiana. Since January 2006 she courageously fought leukemia and a bone marrow transplant all while maintaining her effervescent and positive attitude. She was 47.

Mrs. Lanter was born Jan. 24, 1960, in Miami, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Musser Malloy.

She worked for the Delaware Department of Parks and Recreation as an administrator and was currently a training administrator in the Department of Transportation.

Mrs. Lanter enjoyed traveling, cake decorating, her monthly ladies night out, and loved watching her sons' sporting events.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Herbert C. Lanter; two sons, Douglas C. Lanter and Donald W. Lanter both of Dover; a stepdaughter, Nicole Tyler and her husband, Adam of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Kevin Malloy of Dover, Keith Malloy of Apopka, Fla., and Kurt Malloy of Dover; and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Tyler.

Friends may call from today from 7 to 9 p.m. in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Leukemia Society of Delaware, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 209, Wilmington, DE 19801.
