DOVER - Justin Ryan Lai passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015. Justin was born Feb. 22, 1995 in Dover, Del. to Frankie H. Lai and Deborah O'Neill. He was studying to be a nurse at Del Tech and was on the seed program for the University of Delaware. He was MMA training and was a member of Delaware Combat Sports. Justin enjoyed playing video games, drawing and was very artistic. He loved being with his dog Andy. He was generous and compassionate to others. Justin worked for Holiday Inn as a cook and for Colemans Cleaning. He was preceded in death by his grandfather George Staats and cousin Andrew Hollis. Justin is survived by his parents, Frankie H. Lai and Deborah O'Neill both of Dover; siblings, Jaidyn Lowrey, Courtney Lai and Kyla Lowrey all of Dover; grandmother, Jane Staats of Brookhaven, Pa.; grandparents, Deborah Staats , Bruce Kiesel both of Cheswold, Simon and Susan Lai both of Taipei, Taiwan, and his best friend, John Burris. Funeral services will be held 1PM, Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may visit one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, Del. 19934.
