June Lee Slaughter Dykstra, 61 LAS VEGAS, Nev. - June Lee Slaughter Dykstra, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008. She was 61. Born in Dover, Del., the daughter to the late Virgil and Pauline A. Slaughter. Mrs. Dykstra graduated from Milford High School, Del. in 1964. While in school, she worked for the Geyers Ice Cream Shop. After graduation, she went to work at L.D. Caulk Co. in Milford, Del., as a secretary until the late 1970's, when she married Jeff Dykstra, and moved away from Delaware. They lived in various places until settling in Las Vegas. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlepoint, gourmet cooking, crafts, and being around animals. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, David Slaughter; nephew, Ronald Bradley; niece, Kelly Slaughter; and brother-in-law, Charles Bradley. Mrs. Dykstra is survived by her husband, Jeff Dykstra of Las Vegas; brother, Leon Slaughter of Milford, Del.; sisters, Eleanor Bradley of Milford, Del. and Bernice M. Wilson of Bridgeville, Del.; nephews, Donald Slaughter, Robert Slaughter, Dale Bradley, Jay Wilson, Stevie Slaughter, David Slaughter, Andrew Slaughter and Richard Carey; nieces, LouAnn Yoder, Darlene Draper and Stacey Moore along with many great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Services will be 6 p.m. Saturday in the Milford Church of the Nazarene, Del. Arrangements by the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington, Del.
