MILFORD - Miss Judith Rhea Paver, of Milford, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital, with her family at her side.
She was born on Dec. 5, 1929, in Miami, Fla., the youngest child of the late Frank A. and Isabella (Switzer) Paver.
Having never married and having no children, Judy was the devoted and loving family member who was always there to lend a hand to help family when someone was needed. She devoted her love, time and support to all family members who needed her.
When Judy decided to settle down in Milford to be near her sister, Ruth, she made an important decision.
Judy wanted to get her high school diploma. She graduated from James Grove School with a thunderous ovation from her fellow students, who were much younger than she. They nicknamed her "Mom."
She was very proud of this landmark in her life.
Judy was an original member of the Mickey Mouse Club in 1936.
She retired from Milford Manor in 1986 and spent time traveling with trips to Indiana to see family.
She also like going to Lancaster, Pa., enjoyed Sunday drives, excelled at crossword puzzles, treasured family get-togethers and loved the ocean.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by brothers, Harry, Harvey and Frank Paver; sisters, Annabelle Paver, Harriet Karl, Rosemary Talley and Ruth Sapp; nephews, Robert Sapp, Timothy Sapp, Harvey Talley, and Kenneth Talley; niece, Jackie Paver; and cousins, Patricia Sapp and Clarence Switzer.
She loved all her family members, both in and out of the state of Delaware.
Locally, she is survived by Jill Sapp, Isaac Sapp and wife Mindie, Nathan Sapp and wife Erin and their son, Ethan, Amanda Parisi and husband Tony and their son, Jonah, Jennifer Feindt and husband Matt and their son, Hunter, Theresa Marsh and her children, Harvey and Rebecca Adams, Derek Sapp and wife Heather, their daughter, Hali and his stepson, Ricky Armstrong, Dafne Carnright and husband Jeff and their son, Dylan; and nephew and wife (her caregivers), Dewey and Dona Sapp, all of Milford.
Out of state, she is survived by a nephew, Frank Paver Jr., of Florida; a niece, Jackie Beck of Tennessee; three close cousins, Nellie Switzer Kuratle and husband Henry and their family of Wilmington and Norma Switzer Lynch and husband Don and their family, Ed Switzer and wife Ann and their family, all of West Badin, Ind.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Henlopen Memorial Park, Coastal Highway, Milton.
Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
