Joyce Anne Dorrell-Horney, 62
MILLINGTON, Md. - Joyce Anne Dorrell-Horney of Millington died Friday, March 16, 2007, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 62.
She was born on June 18, 1944, in Sussex, the daughter of the late Geroge Albert Dorrell and Bessie Kathryn Littleton.
She attended Stevensville High School.
Ms. Horney worked for Trailways Bus Depot in Queenstown and Buch"s Chesapeake Inn as a bartender in Annapolis, Md.
Ms. Horney worked for the Maryland Transportation Authority as a toll collector with the Bay Bridge and later at U.S. Naval Academy.
She was a member of the Bay Country Moose Lodge in Queenstown, Md., and was an honorary member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, also in Queenstown.
She married Larry Horney in 1970. Mr. Horney died in 1993.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lomax; and a sister, Mary Kathryn Lee.
She is survived by two daughters, Constance Anne Lomax Mench and her husband, Edward of Smyrna, Del., and Teresa Colleen Horney-Wessell and her husband, Arthur of Millington; a step son, Mark Horney of Grasonville; five brothers, Robert L. Lindner of Stevensville and William L. Lindner III of Chester; William L. Lindner IV of Grenta, La., Frederick Lindner and Eugene Lindner, both of Bella Chase, La.; two sisters, Joanne Crooks of Belle Chase and Regina Lindner of Grenta, La.; and eight grandchildren, Tanya Wessell, Michael Mench, Whitney Mench, Kristi Anne Mench, Kati Mench, Lea Horney, Mark Horney Jr. and Travis Horney.
A funeral service will be held in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, Md., on Thursday at 11 a.m. where family and friends may call today from 6-8 p.m.
Interment will be in Stevensville Cemetery in Stevensville, Md.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Millington Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 255 Millington, MD 21651.
