Joyce Ann Watkins, 53

HOUSTON - Joyce Ann Watkins, of Houston, formerly of New Castle, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, after a lifelong illness. She was 53.

Mrs. Watkins was born in Princeton, W.Va., the daughter of Sarah (Craig) Bailey.

She was a graduate of William Penn High School, New Castle, class of 1972, and of Goldey Beacom Business College with an associate's degree in business. She was a homemaker.

Joyce was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, New Castle. She loved to do crafts, to read and working on puzzles. Joyce was a kindhearted mother, daughter and wife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Watkins, in 1997.

She is survived by her son Josh Watkins and his fiancée Kandie Mowbray, of Houston; her mother Sarah (Craig) Bailey, of Houston; and her sister Chris Bailey, of Athens, Ohio.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Burial will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
