CLAYTON - Joyce Ann Walls "Jo" passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Christiana Hospital. She was 79. Jo was born September 28, 1936 in Templeville, Maryland and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, and relocated to the Clayton – Kenton area in 1973. She finished her working years and retired from the Department of Corrections at DJBWCI as an officer in 1999. Jo was a foster mother to 20 plus children. She loved working in her flower beds and spending time with her constant companions, her many, many dogs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Ted and Bob Walls; sons, Bradley Lunsford, Paul Lunsford, Sr.; granddaughter, Joyce Ann "Joy" Morris; ex-husbands, Clyde Lunsford, Bob Insley and Jack Burris. She is survived by sons, Joseph Insley and his wife Lou Ann of Frederica, Tracy Insley and his wife Novella of Wilmington; daughters, Loretta Sheetz and her husband William of Newark, Florence Bridget of New Castle, and Teresa Squire of Canton, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Anna Lunsford of Clayton; brothers, Robert Walls and his wife Nancy of Wilmington, Edward Walls and his wife Elaine of Wilmington; sisters, Helen Carnell of Smyrna, and Dorothy Ferrell and husband Tom of Newark; thirty four grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening. Interment will be in Gracelawn Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to your local Non Kill Animal Shelter.
