Joyce Ann Pancoast

Joyce Ann Pancoast, 56

DOVER - Joyce Ann Pancoast of Dover passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 56.

Mrs. Pancoast was born May 5, 1950, in Washington, D.C., to Cletus and Dorothy Mae (Newman) Miller.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, fulfilling many different positions including: teacher, young woman leader, music chairperson and choir member.

She received the Young Mother of the Year Award for Delaware in 1982. Also, she received the Jefferson Award for 12 years for volunteer service with Read-Aloud Delaware.

Mrs. Pancoast served in the Cub Scouts den and helped with Cub Scouts day camps. She was a member of the Dover High School Band Boosters for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, John Lindsay Pancoast; her sons, Timothy John Pancoast, Joseph Beigham Pancoast and Michael Thomas Pancoast; a daughter, Sandra Lindsay Tolman; her brothers, Cletus Morris Miller, David Elden Miller and Maurice Monroe Miller; and her sisters, Donna Lean Miller Rowland and Debra Swanson.

Celebration of life services will be noon Friday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be Friday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
