DOVER - Josephine Jansky of Dover died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.
Mrs. Jansky was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Boston, daughter of the late Peter and Angelina (Santoro) Mento.
She worked for General Foods, Dover as a machine operator. After her retirement, she enjoyed life as a homemaker.
She loved to cook and share the gifts and joys of her kitchen with family and friends.
Mrs. Jansky was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Jansky in December 1985; and a son, George Peter Jansky.
She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Schmecht of Vinton, Va. and Angela Brown of Sandwich, Mass.; two brothers, Peter Mento of Florida and Anthony Mento of Fitchburg, Mass.; two sisters, Mary Jansky of Dover and Frances Thornton of Andover, Mass.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. today in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.
Burial will be noon Monday in St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale, Mass.
