WYOMING - Joseph James Miles passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Kent General Hospital, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Sue Shepherd, Lori Short, and Iona Zellman. Joe worked in Landscape Management for many years, but was most passionate about helping others. As a member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company, Station 41, he served for over 20 years as a fire fighter, and past Assistant Fire Chief. He was best known for overnight emergency and natural disaster support, ensuring sustenance for those in need. Joe's great love was days spent fishing, camping and hanging out with family and friends. He also loved watching NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steeler's. He was a very giving person who was always there to lend a helping hand. Joe is survived by his loving parents, Harold and Nita Willey, with whom he resided; children, JR, Alexis, and Matthew; siblings, Sherry, Bob, and Larry; two grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where family and friends may call one hour prior. Burial will follow services at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's honor can be made to the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co. Memorial Trust Fund, 200 E. Camden Wyoming Ave., Camden, DE., 19934. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
