LEWES - Joseph J. Campbell Sr. of Lewes, formerly of New Jersey, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in Washington, D.C., Armed Forces Retirement Home. He was 82.
Mr. Campbell was born in Camden, N.J., son of the late William F. and Josephine (Venable) Campbell.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a Seabee.
He was the owner and operator of J.J. Campbell Inc. for 25 years, a heating, air conditioning and sheet metal company.
Mr. Campbell was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7447, Rehoboth Beach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie Campbell, in 1967.
He is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph J. Jr. and Terry Campbell of Williamstown, N.J., William Francis and Clara Campbell of Throughfare, N.J., Robert Campbell of Williamstown and Timothy Campbell of Pensacola, Fla.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Ellie A. and James Fairchild of Utica, Ohio, Barbara Gertrude Kullman of Charlotte, N.C., Marie and Wesley Evans of Washington and Regina and James Marciano of Franklinville, N.J., a brother and a sister-in-law, Edward and Elizabeth Campbell of Mt. Ephriam, N.J.; two sisters, Evelyn Di Nardo of Throughfare and Gertrude Bunting of Brooklawn, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today in Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro.
Services will be 2 p.m. today in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, Millsboro. The Rev. Robert Hudson will officiate.
Burial will be in the cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer"s Association, Delaware Chapter, 321 E. 11th St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
