Joseph Condron , 76
Joseph Condron passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, March 31, 2022, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Joe was born on October 23, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Dennis & Carrie (Minnick) Condron.
In addition to his parents; Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, James Condron, and Dennis J. Condron, Jr.; and three sisters, Dorothy Harkins, Anna Harris, and Margaret Pippin.
Joe is survived by his wife, Danielle (Martin) Condron; his son, Shaun Condron & his wife, Jennifer (Spiegel) Condron; granddaughter, Katelyn Condron, all of Dover; brother, John Condron & his wife Alberta, of Harrington; sister-in-law, Susan Condron, of Milford; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968. While serving, Joe was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. During this time Joe was recognized for being a sharpshooter and learned additional skillsets that would ultimately make a bigger dream come true. In 1971, Joe fulfilled his lifelong dream to become a Police Officer, where he served with the Dover Police Department until 1975, when he became a Delaware State Trooper. Joe continued to faithfully serve his community as a State Trooper working on Patrol, in Criminal Investigations, and as a Polygraph operator, until his retirement as Master Corporal in 1995.
In his spare time, Joe enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, vacationing in the Outer Banks, surf fishing, working on construction projects, and volunteering at various Children's Hospitals and Special Olympics Events.
Joe was a very humble man with a generous heart and always helped those in need. He will be missed by many.
Joe's wishes did not include formal funeral services, however, a Celebration of Life in Honor of Joe will be held on April 23, 2022 at the Delaware State Troopers Association Hall, 6349 N. Dupont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Delaware Hospice- www.delawarehospice.org/donate.
