Joseph C. Connolley, 57

MARYDEL - Joseph C. Connolley of Marydel died Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 57.

Mr. Connolley was born Nov. 26, 1949, in Massey, Md., son of the late James E. and Mildred (Durham) Connolley.

He was a graduate of Galena (Md.) High School.

Mr. Connolley served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy for four years during Vietnam.

He was employed as a maintenance mechanic by the Eagle Group Metal Masters of Clayton.

Mr. Connolley was a lifetime member of the Millington Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed his garden and sharing crabs and beer with family.

Mr. Connolley was a faithful supporter and donor to the Blood Blank of Delaware. He donated monthly to the program for blood platelets.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Connolley; and a daughter, Maureen.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Karen Sue Connolley of Marydel; a brother, Eddie Connolley of Galena; a sister, Dolly Robbins of Galena; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, William and Margaret Clarke of Dover; a brother-in-law, Edward Morris of Milford; two sisters-in-law, Monica Morris of Dover and Krista Holloway of Dover; two daughters and a son, a devoted dog, Peanut; and Quincy, his parrot.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services.

Burial with military honors will be private.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent in his memory to the Blood Bank of Delaware, 100 Hygeia Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
