Joseph Arthur "Joe" Pedrotty passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Bayhealth Kent Campus. He was born October 7, 1952, in St. Louis, Mo.
Joe served his country as an officer in the Navy. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his master's degree from Governors State University. He worked for several years at Playtex in Dover and for Amtrak in Washington, D.C. At the time of his death, he was working for Henrietta Johnson Medical Center in Wilmington.
Joe loved spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife Christine travelled extensively throughout the United States and to Italy and Germany. His favorite places to visit were Hilton Head, South Carolina, and the family bay house in Rock Hall, Maryland. On every trip, Joe made sure to pack his vacation shoes. He loved riding his bike, watching reruns of Seinfeld, playing golf, and coaching soccer. He was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Church in Dover. He volunteered with Boy Scouts of America Troop 903 Dover, Del.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys M. Pedrotty (Mercer). He is survived by his father, John Richard Pedrotty; his loving wife, Christine A. Pedrotty, to whom he was married for 16 years; his daughters, Emily and Jennifer; his sons, Michael with his wife Jessica, Benjamin, Andrew, and Brian; his brothers, John (Gail), Jimmy (Yvonne), and Jeffrey Pedrotty; his grandchildren, Molly and Jack; and several nieces and nephews.
Joe will be remembered for his outgoing and selfless personality. He was always willing to lend a hand to a friend or family member in need, and he will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2022, from 9 ~ 11 a.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del., with military honors at 11 a.m. A Catholic Mass will follow at 12 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 631 South State Street, Dover, Del.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
