John W. Repp Sr.

DOVER - John W. Repp Sr., 82, of Dover, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010. John was born in New Milford, N.J., and moved to Vineland, N.J., at an early age where he attended public schools and graduated from Vineland High School. He owned and operated Repp's Blackwater Sports Center for over 40 years. John was active in numerous sports related organizations as well as the Rotary Club, before retiring and moving to Delaware. He held part time positions with Pillsbury Baking Co. as a service rep. and the Dover Mall as a customer service representative. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as the first Bishop in the Vineland Ward from 1980 - 1984. John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Ruth (Heick) Repp; two sons, John Repp Jr. of Erie, Pa., and Kenneth Repp of Boston, Mass.; daughter, Cheryl Dagostino, of Vineland, N.J.; stepsons, Lyle Smith of Dodge City, Kan., and Andrew Smith of Farmington, Utah; stepdaughters, Lorraine Wilkes of Dover, and Julie Smith of Medford, N.J.; sister, Rose Frisch of Middletown, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 110 Highland Ave. Vineland, N.J., with Bishop Gil Hoffman officiating, on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland, N.J. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to consider their local chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 237 W. Lebanon Rd. Dover, at 11 a.m., where friends will be received by the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, Vineland, N.J.
