John W. Mullen, 53

SMYRNA - John W. Mullen of Smyrna passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007, in Smyrna. He was 53.

Mr. Mullen was born, lived, and worked his entire life in Delaware, and was a graduate of Middletown High School.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, training his dogs and sports.

Mr. Mullen was a member of the Four Seasons Motorcycle Club and Ducks Unlimited.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Mullen Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty Lou; three children, Jeff Mullen and his fiancée, Crystal Sherman of Delaware, Amy and Dane Gasio of Oklahoma and Shane Mullen of Delaware; he was "Pop Pop" to 12 loving grandchildren; his mother, Mary E. Mullen; three sisters, Patricia Anderson, Eleanor Rawley, and Jacqui Reardon, all of Delaware; a brother, James Mullen Jr. of Virginia; a cousin, William "Smokey" Smith and his wife, Dot; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Friday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Church Road, Warwick, Md.

Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery.
