John W. Boc, 75

LAUREL - John W. Boc of Laurel died Friday, April 6, 2007, in his home, surrounded by his wife and children. He was 75.

Mr. Boc was born Nov. 20, 1931, son of the late Walter and Stella (Maczkowska) Boc.

He was a plasterer for Lowe Bros. for 23 years, and a truck driver for NKS Distributors for 20-plus years.

He was an avid fisherman and bowler, and was a lifetime member of the Wilmington Bowling Association and was on the board of directors for the Lower Delaware Bowling Association.

Mr. Boc was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Seaford, and was a Third-Degree Knight of the St. Molua Council 4075, Knights of Columbus, Laurel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Casimir Boc, Edmund Boc and Edward Boc, and a sister, Sophie.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sylvia Boc; four sons and three daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Mille Boc, Michael Boc, Thomas and Tammy Boc, and Robert and Janice Boc; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and Raymond Jubb, and Deborah and David Grohol; a sister, Irene Striker; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in John F. Yasik & Sons Funeral Home, 607 S. Harrison St., Wilmington.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church, 408 S. Harrison St., Wilmington.

Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
