John W. 'Poppy' Angeline, 78

MIDDLETOWN - John W. "Poppy" Angeline of Middletown passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, in Broadmeadow Nursing Care. He was 78.

Mr. Angeline was born in Lancaster, Pa., son of the late John Angeline and Madeline Destefano.

He moved to Townsend in 1966 where he resided for more than 30 years.

Mr. Angeline served in the Army Air Force and retired from the Chrysler Corp., where he worked for 35 years.

He was an amazing gardener and an extremely talented craftsman. He loved boating, fishing, walking on the beach and metal detecting.

Mr. Angeline will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel Angeline and his fiancée, Tracey Naylor and Mike and Lynn Angeline; two daughters and a son-in-law, Robin and Daniel Lacey and Wendy Clark and her fiancé, Brian King; 11 grandchildren, Laine, Starr, Mike Jr., Shannon, Brooke, Lindsey, Jason, Nicole, Justin, Kristi and Taylor; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Burial will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the MOT Relay for Life, c/o American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
