John P. Wicht Jr., 74
John P. Wicht Jr. of Alaska, formerly of Clayton, Del., died Monday, March 5, 2007, in Nevada. He was 74.
Mr. Wicht was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Manhattan, N.Y.
He retired from the Delaware Correctional Center in 1999.
He resided in Clayton until he suffered a stroke and moved to Alaska in September 2004 to be with his daughters.
Mr. Wicht was a longtime member of Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of America and died in living faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; a son, Frederick; and a grandson, Matthew.
He is survived by John Wicht III of Sheridian, Wyo., Cynthia Uskoski of Battle Ground, Wash., Sharon Foley and Lisa Koski of Palmer, Alaska; 20 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were March 10 in Palmer, Alaska. Fred Blomquist and Andrew Hendrickson officiated.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. Friday in Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Delaware, Pleasant Valley Rd. Newark. Robert Blomquist will officiate.
Burial will be in Bayview Cemetery, Bayview, Md.
Arrangements by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory, Wasilla, Alaska.
