John P. Murphy, 47
CAMDEN - On March 25, 2009, John P. Murphy, died in Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He was 47. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Murphy; father of Jason and his wife Alicia, and Carly, Erin, Courtney and Joseph; grandfather of Bridgette and Shane. Born Oct. 23, 1961 in Middle River, Md., he was the son of Anna Whitlock and the late Daniel R. Whitlock. John was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He never had to talk about the one that got away, because he always got what he went after, but the six point buck quickly turned into a 10 point buck. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at noon on Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church, 113 Lotus St., Dover. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the undercroft of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Johns name may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church to help defray funeral expenses. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his in-laws from Suffolk, England, Mr. and Mrs. Charley and Carol Scott; brothers and sisters include, John Whitlock of Florida, Vicki Whitlock and Becky Cody of Bel Air, Md., Bill Murphy and wife Sharon of Baltimore, Md., Don Murphy and wife Sue of Kitty Hawk, N.C., Ray Murphy of Weston, W.Va., Rick Murphy and wife Karen of Dover, Marge Murphy of Baltimore, Md., and Karen Chidester of Hartly. John is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will all miss the benefit of his fish stories. May he rest in peace. Letters of condolences may be sent to
