MILFORD - John Lawson Thomas Jr., of Milford, died Monday, May 12, 2008. He was 76.
Mr. Thomas was born April 24, 1932, in Accomac, Va.
His hobbies included playing checkers, dominoes and spades.
Mr. Thomas member of Wesley Chapel United Church.
He received his education in South Hill, Va.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; eight sisters; 12 brothers; a daughter, Virginia Lauzon; and his mother-in-law, Sarah Walls.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia Thomas of Milford; a daughter, Denise Bowman (John) of Harrington; 22 grandchildren, including Daniel Hazzard, Tyrell Hazzard, Fanrusha Hazzard and Alvino Hazzard; one stepdaughter, Paula Cannon Heorde; five stepsons, Anyune Jamal, John, Tyrone and Howard; one sister, Lullir Mar Thomas Lewis of Lincoln; a special nephew, James A. Lewis II; two nieces, Melvinia Hoeset and Lulle Mar Jackson; one goddaughter, Paullette Mitchell; one sister-in-law, Constance Kittrell; godmother, Mary Burton; two special friends, Joseph Felton and Lucille Seth; his father-in-law, George Felton; many nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wesley Chapel Church, Slaughter Neck, where friends may attend a viewing beginning at 11 a.m.
