John Joseph Posdon, 77 SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - John Joseph Posdon, 77 years of age, died in his home in Ship Bottom, on Sunday, July 18, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Posdon; and children, Douglas Posdon and Amy Posdon Olsen; stepdaughter, Leslie Heck; stepson, Scott Hazel; and his sisters, Margaret Justice, Marianne Burdick, Dorothy Melouche, and Judy Crawford. He has six grandchildren and one great grandchild. John was born in Simpson, Pa., on June 30, 1933. He served in the United States Air Force from January 17, 1952, to January 31, 1980. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. John then continued his career with the State of Delaware until his retirement in August 2000. A memorial in his honor will be held between 3 and 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, at Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home in Ship Bottom, New Jersey. He will be laid to rest by his immediate family at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey. John was a good man to all. Friends both past and present will remember him as humorous and good-hearted. His children will forever remember his unwavering support and patience. And to his wife, Vicki, of 45 years, John was kind, loyal and loving. John's family would like to thank relatives and friends for their support, and a heartfelt thank you to the professionals at Meridian Hospice.
