John J. Blizzard, 82

MILTON - John J. Blizzard, lifelong resident of Milton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Lewes Convalescent Center. He was 82.

John was born in Milton, son of the late Walter G. and Lillie E. (Megee) Blizzard.

He was a laborer for Chandler Orchards and helped grow apples and peaches.

He was well known in the community for delivering fresh fruits and vegetables to area residents.

John also worked at Rogers Signs in Milton for 10 years.

He enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Blizzard and Russell Blizzard; and two sisters, Jennie Rodenheiser and Elsie Millman.

John is survived by a niece, Francian Esperon of Milton, who cared for him; one great-niece, Doris H. Watkins of Milton; and two great-great-nieces, Debra Watkins of Milton and Karen Watkins of Seaford.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call one hour prior.

A gathering will be held at the Grace Church, Milton immediately following services.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.

Flowers are accepted, or contributions can be made to Goshen U.M. Church, 103 Mulberry St., Milton, DE 19968; or to Grace Church, 514 Union St., Milton, DE 19968.
