John J. Bell Jr.

John J. Bell Jr., 64 DOVER - John J. Bell Jr., of Dover, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 64. Mr. Bell was born March 2, 1946, in Baltimore, Md., the son of the late John J. Bell, Sr. and June Emily Gilbert Bell. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy retiring from the Reserves in 1998 as Senior Master Sergeant as an Aircraft Radio Technician after 35 years. After his retirement he went to work in Civil Service as an AFRC retiring in 2001 for a total of 38 years of service. Mr. Bell was a member of Eagle Creek Golf Course for 40 years and the Eagle Creek MISGA Association. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover. Mr. Bell especially enjoyed his Lionel Trains and boasted of a beautiful layout in his basement. He was an avid Ravens and Oriole Fan as well as an avid Elvis Presley Fan. Mr. Bell loved to spend time on the Boardwalk of Ocean City, Md., and touring Bombay Hook. He enjoyed working in his yard, he took pride in his beautiful fish pond. Mr. Bell loved to spend time with his family and friends and loved them all dearly. Mr. Bell is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rose Trippe Bell of Dover; son, John J. Bell and his wife Donna of Wilmington; daughter, Tammy Korosec and her husband Adolf of Frederica; five grandchildren, Christopher Bell, Brandon Hughes, Sarah Korosec, Emily Hughes, and Michael Korosec; two brothers, Lawrence Bell and his wife Iona of Spring Grove, Pa., and William Bell and his wife Sue of Owens, Md.; sister, Carolyn Dorsch of Scotland, Md.; and other loving cousins, nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call one prior. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Park, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; or Camden – Wyoming Fire Department, 200 E. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Camden, DE 19934. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
