SMYRNA - John Irvin Webb Jr. of Smyrna passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, in his daughter's home, following a brief illness. He was 95.
John was born to the late Julie and John I. Webb Sr. of Milford and was raised by relatives in the surrounding area.
He retired in 1977 after working for various construction companies as a crane and grader operator.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death to his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Dixon Webb; and two daughters, Margaret "Peg" Scuse and her husband Robert of Dover and Joan Webb Kemp of Milford; and his son, John I. "Jack" Webb III of Gilbertsville, Pa.
He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Christine Faulkner and her husband James of Smyrna; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Webb of Gilbertsville; two cousins, Hazel Dodd of Milford and Preston Webb of Bethany Beach; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be noon Monday in Trader Funeral Home, 1211 Lotus St., Dover, where family and friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
