CHESTERTOWN, Md. - John H. Naundorf, of Chestertown, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown, of heart failure. He was 61.
Mr. Naundorf was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late H. Herbert Naundorf and Mable Ruth Fetterolf Naundorf of Chestertown.
John was a Captain as a merchant mariner and enjoyed selling real estate for 25 years.
He was a member of the U.S. Merchant Mariners Local 333, Staten Island, N.Y.
John was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
For many years, John was very active and one of the founding members of A.B.A.T.E, Kent County Chapter.
He loved to ride his motorcycle, and had ridden his bike across country and visited every state in the continental United States.
John also enjoyed hot rods and classic cars and held an auto dealer license, as well as his Real Estate license beginning with Sommers Reality and most recently with Whitely and Associates both of Chestertown.
John loved the water and water sports.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by one daughter, Kassaundra Lynn Naundorf of Chestertown; two sons, John R. "Ricky" Naundorf, also of Chestertown, and Kevin Charles Naundorf of Worton; two brothers, Glenn Naundorf of Salisbury, and Rodney Naundorf of Still Pond; and grandchildren, Jonathan A. Naundorf, Jessica R. Naundorf and Serenitee Lynn Miller; and his fiancée, Patti Capel.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday in Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where friends and family may call one hour prior.
Interment will follow in the Chester Cemetery, Chestertown.
