MILFORD - John George, of Milford, passed away June 17, 2010, at the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford. He was 76. He was born on Sept. 7, 1933, in New York City, N.Y., son of the late Harry and Cathryn McKinney George. John served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. John was a life member with the Red Hook NY VFW Post 7765 and Elks Lodge Post 2022 and active in both until he went into the veterans home. His activities in both took up a great deal of his time and were very important to him. He is survived by a son, John George, Jr.; two daughters, Patricia Thompson and Jan George; and a sister, Dorothy Asreen; two grandsons, four granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. Burial will be 10 a.m., Sept. 1, 2010, in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
