Synden, 67 Magnolia - John Frederick Synden, formerly of Ephrata, Pa. and Spotswood, N.J., beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully after a six year struggle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday Oct. 12, 2014, at home, with his wife by his side. Born on Jan. 26, 1947 in South Amboy N.J. John proudly served his country, in the Army as a cook during the Vietnam War. Married Linda in April 1969. John and Linda loved to travel. They enjoyed camping with their children, family and friends. Going on cruises, was their favorite pastime. John also loved to cook, go to garage sales, spend time in his workshop, listening and singing to classic country music and the oldies from the 60's. Spending time with his granddaughters were always his happiest moments. John always greeted you with a smile. John is survived by his wife, Linda of 45 years; son, John Alan Synden and daughter-in- law, Susan Synden; granddaughters, Rachel Mae and Sierra Meadow Synden; grandsons, Sayje Ryvyr and Jerny Ryder Benedict all of Ephrata, Pa. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Delaware Hospice and everyone at the Modern Maturity's Day Break program who gave John such great care and showed compassion. Funeral Services will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, October 18,2014, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc. 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations, in John's memory, to either Delaware Hospice 911 S Dupont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901, or the Day Break Program at The Modern Maturity Center 1121 Forrest Ave, Dover, DE 19904.
