John F. Hartnett Sr., 75

DOVER - John F. Hartnett Sr., of Dover, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 75.

He was born July 30, 1932, in Dover, to the late John and Margaret Ann Stewart Hartnett.

Mr. Hartnett was a member of Harrington Moose Lodge.

He owned and operated Hartnett Farms and Trucking for over 50 years.

After he retired from farming, he worked with Delmarva Cleaning at Dover Downs.

Mr. Hartnett was preceded in death by his first wife, Daisy Mae (Poore) Hartnett, in 1991; and two brothers, John R. Hartnett and Charles Hartnett.

He is survived by his wife, Mary T. Hartnett of Dover; a son and his wife, John "Jack" and Kim Hartnett Jr. of Dover; daughter and her husband, Florence A. and Eddie Husfelt of Dover; daughter and her husband, Bonnie S. and Rick Millman of Harrington; daughter and her husband, Robin L. and Dan Hartnett-Sterner of Wyoming; brother, Herbert Hartnett of Dover; brother, Leo Hartnett of Dover; four grandchildren, Robbie Husfelt, Amanda Jarman, Samantha Jarman and Justin Hartnett; nine step-grandchild; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Remembrance services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Burial will be at the Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to APDA Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, Crozer Chester Medical Center, Presidents Drive, Upland, PA 19013.
