CHESTERTOWN, Md. - John David "Little Jack" Bland Jr. of Chestertown died Friday, April 13, 2007, in his home after a short illness. He was 46.
Mr. Bland was born June 22, 1960, in Chestertown, son of John David Bland Sr. and Jean Porter Bland Darrah, both of Chestertown.
He attended schools in Kent County, Md.
On Dec. 10, 1994, he married Robin Sue Bakeoven. They were together from the time he was 15.
Mr. Bland worked as a painter with Beasley Painting, Jack Brush Techniques and Robert Porter Drywall.
He enjoyed playing pool, walking their dog, long drives, music and flowers. He particularly enjoyed fixing the neighborhood kids' bicycles.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Claire Porter Fisher.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Robin Bakeoven Bland; a son, John David Bland III of Chestertown; his grandfather, Maynard Porter of Rock Hall; his sisters, Debbie Rigby of Bettterton, Vicky Klein of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Pamela Hall and Sandy Messer, both of Chestertown.
Services will be 5 p.m. Monday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road Chestertown, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chester River Hospice Foundation, 100 Brown St., Chestertown, MD 21620.
