John Damien Hartman

DOVER - John Damien Hartman passed away, Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Hartman was born Oct. 5, 1955 in Baltimore, Md. to the late Paul B. Hartman, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Gunning Hartman.
He worked for the State Governor's office as an accountant. Mr. Hartman was deeply engaged with supporting Narcotics Anonymous, helping those in recovery for close to thirty years. He was preparing to return to Scotland to support a prison recovery program when he fell ill.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul B. Hartman, Jr.; and wife, Sherrie Hartman.
He is survived by his brothers, Christopher P. Hartman of Columbus, Ohio and Philip Hartman of Baltimore, Md. He is deeply loved by his sisters-in-law, Linette (Ohio) and Jennifer (Maryland); and his nieces and nephew. His family and friends from around the world have expressed their affection and loss at his passing. His presence, compassion and wit will be sorely missed.
Memorial services will be held 6 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
