SURPRISE, Ariz. - Joanne K. Martin, age 85, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011, in the Grandview Care Center, Surprise, Ariz., after a short illness. She was born in Wilmington, Del., in 1925 to Howard C. and Eleanor B. Kurtz. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Ray and Dee Martin of Virginia Beach, Va., Kaddi and Russ Lewis of Surprise, Ariz., Charles and Loretta Martin of Dover, Del., John and Debbie Martin of Delaware City, Del.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn K. Hayes of Surprise, Ariz. She enjoyed mah-jon, Mexican train and watching tennis. She was also an avid reader. Family graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at Wilmington & Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington.
