KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Mrs. JoAnn Wilkins, 88, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2016, at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Vance Wilkins. Mrs. Wilkins was born on January 28, 1928, in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lloyd and Nellie Kelchner. She was a longtime resident of Knoxville, Tennessee and also spent time in Charlotte, North Carolina and Winston Salem, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a Dental Hygienist throughout her professional career. Mrs. Wilkins greatly enjoyed her family and dedicated much time to raising her five sons, enjoyed time with friends and was an avid reader. Mrs. Wilkins is survived by her oldest son, David Wilkins, his wife, Natasha, his daughter, Jessie and her husband Jack Miller of Carrolton, Virginia. Living in Easley, South Carolina is her son, Chris Wilkins, his wife Meg, and her grandsons, Christopher and Michael Wilkins. In Knoxville, Tennessee is her son, Scott Wilkins. In Nashville, Tennessee, are two sons, Gregory Wilkins and Mark Wilkins, along with his wife Iva Wilkins. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel on Saturday, July 9, 2016, with a reception to follow next door at Milestones Event Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Farragut Branch Library at 417 North Campbell Station Road in Knoxville, Tennessee in honor of JoAnn Wilkins.
