LEIPSIC - Joan Fenimore Storey Parker of Leipsic passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Parker was born June 24, 1931 in Dover to the late William C. Storey and Nan Slaughter Storey.
She had worked for the State of Delaware Division of Corporation. After retirement she worked at the family business Pleasanton's Seaford until 2006. Mrs. Parker was the family cook and known for and loved preparing Sunday family dinners. Everything revolved around her girls and that's where she wanted to spend all her time. She enjoyed going to the beach and the Bombay Hook Refuge.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, "Buddy" John Parker; and son-in-law, Alan Pleasanton.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Nan Pleasanton of Leipsic and Susan Tudor (Bobby) of Dover; sister, Sandra Dixon of Dover; grandchildren, Nan Fox (Jim) and Mandy Ridgeway (Shawn) all of Leipsic; great grandchildren, Trevor and Nathan Fox, Maci and Jace Ridgeway, Leanne and Samantha Fox; niece, Dana Perschau; and nephew, Brian Dixon and several nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank Delaware Hospice, special friend, Margie Fox and special caretakers, Lisa Mosley and Karli Jennings for all their support and kindness.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Roby United Methodist Church, 245 Main Street, Leipsic, DE 19901.
