Joan E. Huber, 75

WILMINGTON - Joan E. Huber of Wilmington passed away peacefully Friday, May 25, 2007, surrounded by her loving family in Broadmeadow Nursing Home, Middletown. She was 75.

Mrs. Huber was born on May 30, 1931, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Jackson) Johnson of Newport.

For many years Joan was employed by Bell Telephone and later as a security guard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Johnson.

She is survived by a son, Michael McGuire and his wife, Sharon of Felton; a daughter, Debbie Street and her husband, Michael of Bear; three grandchildren, Mary McGuire of Harrington, Edward McGuire of Smyrna and Daniel Deery III of Bear; four great-grandchildren, Liam McGuire of Harrington, Hunter McGuire and Kylie McGuire, both of Smyrna and Korinne Gearhart of Bear; two sisters, Marie Cofrancisco of Wilmington and Rita Delaney of Bear; and a brother, Paul Johnson and his wife, Cleo of Bear.

Memorial services to celebrate Joan"s life and her 76th birthday will be 5 p.m. Wednesday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be private.

The family suggests memorial contributions to VITAS Hospice Care, 100 Commerce Drive, Suite 302, Newark DE 19713.
